Pixelated
Pixelated chronicles the frontier of trans millennial life and self-discovery, shaped by the dawn of the internet. The collection exists in the fractured tension between analog and algorithmic lives. It examines how identity, intimacy, sex, and time are built, documented, and transformed in an era defined by social media. Moving between hookup apps, personal archives, and Southern and Northeastern (United States) landscapes, these poems inhabit spaces where bodies become data and memory becomes image. Soper, in a diaristic manner, charts desire, isolation, and adaptation, searching for authentic intimacy in an increasingly algorithmic world. In Pixelated, desire is not portrayed as spectacle or confession, but as a central human theme: the ongoing search for love, connection, and pleasure, and how these are redefined in digital contexts.
